Patient plate (also called return electrode) is used in electrosurgery to remove current from the patient safely.

Patient Plate

Hisern offers 2 types patient plate non-split and split for patients ranging from adult to pediatric. Also, there're 3 types connectors available for the cables attached to the patient plate.

Difference between non-split and split type

Non-split: detects whether the patient plate is well connected to the ESU. If it is not well connected, the ESU will send an alarm and cut the power off.

Split: besides detecting the connection between the patient plate and the ESU. It also detects whether the patient plate is well contacted by patient’s skin. If the contact area is insufficient, the ESU will send an alarm and cut the power off.
